Managed service provider Appia Communications has announced a new addition to its partner roster: CBX Technologies. An IT and professional services provider for the private and public sector, CBX specializes in integrated solutions, particularly in unified communications. Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Oakland, Calif.-based CBX becomes an authorized reseller of Appias complete line of managed voice, data, video and network services. Appias remotely managed cloud services will likely be a major sales focus for CBX.
CBX brings a great deal of expertise in professional services to the table, and can help drive Appias channel sales by offering value-added IT business services such as acquisition planning, staff augmentation, management consulting, network integration and support, especially in unified communications, all prerequisites for making the jump to hosted or cloud services.
That should fit in well with Appias focus on remotely managed communication and network services for the SMB market. Appia has been pegged as a provider to watch, garnering accolades as one of the top managed service providers in the world, as well as one of the fastest-growing solution providers in the industry.
Voice over IP has become an integral factor in network communications, bringing lower operational costs, greater flexibility, and a variety of enhanced applications, said CBSX founder Christian DAndrade, who expects Appia to keep his company at the forefront of the latest technologies. Video communication is emerging in a big way, with 80 percent of all Internet traffic expected to be video by 2015. And with Appias managed services, its all in the cloud. Theres no PBX or MCU (Multipoint Control Unit) to worry about.
Continuing the cloud services theme, Mike Guerro, Appias regional manager for the Northwest, said, Cloud services are simply a way to outsource headaches to a third party on a pay-as-you-use engagement model. By using Appias services, CBX can help customers turn huge upfront capital expenses into low operating expenses, which is a very positive move for any midsize organization.
