Ingram Micro Shakes Up Management Team

It appears as if Ingram Micro is taking great pains to reinvigorate its partner channel. The frontline distributor is making a number of management changes in a reorganization of several key customer-facing positions.

The reasoning behind the shakeup is not yet clear; the company has not issued a press release, but has made statements regarding the changes, according to reports in to CRN.

Paul Bay, a senior vice president of vendor management for Ingram Micro from 1995 to 2006, will return to his old stomping grounds, stepping down as CEO of Punch! Software, which was acquired by Encore Software.

His job responsibilities will include sales, marketing and product management for VAR customers in the United States and Canada. He will oversee the senior vice president of sales and marketing, vice presidents of vendor management and the general manager of Ingram Micro Canada.

Ingram Micro also recently promoted Kirk Robinson to vice president, value-added reseller and government/education sales, market development and business intelligence.
