Less than a week after releasing a Kindle app for Mac, Amazon.com announced Monday that it will offer one for Apples new iPad. The app will give iPad users the ability to download any of the 450,000 e-books in Amazons collection.
One spiffy feature included in the app is something called Whispersync technology, which syncs and remembers the last page that you read. This feature is also available in apps for BlackBerry, PC and more.
If youre into the aesthetics surrounding your reading, the new app gives you the opportunity to change background colors and font sizes based on your preferences. And hey, if youre having a hard time leaving dead trees behind, the app includes an effect which looks like the screen is turning pages, like youd do with a book.
The first iPads will be available April 3. No word yet when the Kindle app will be ready.
