Virgo Publishing, a leading provider of business-to-business media and events, announced today that the June 2010 VON Conference & Expo has been canceled. However, the company has retained nearly all of the VON staff to provide additional focus to the robust and rapidly growing online properties of VON and xchange.
“Unfortunately, with continuing softness in the economy and marketers delaying budgets as a result, we felt that we weren’t getting the kind of traction we wanted for the 2010 event. We don’t want to put our customers at risk and decided that canceling the event for 2010 was the right thing to do,” said Mike Saxby, group publisher, Telecom Division, Virgo Publishing. “We have a strong online presence in the telecom service provider market and are channeling our efforts into VON, xchange and Billing & OSS World online, as well as to the Billing & OSS World print magazine and in-person event.”
The 2010 Billing & OSS World Conference & Expo will continue as scheduled, June 9-11, 2010, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Celebrating its 18th year in 2010, Billing & OSS World is the premier conference and exposition focusing on the business and operations support systems requirements for next-generation communications networks. More than 1,100 industry professionals, including communications services providers and their vendors, attend this annual event.
The VON brand continues online at www.von.com and is part of a robust online network for telecom service providers that also includes xchange (www.xchangemag.com) and Billing & OSS World (www.billingworld.com). Together, these three sites serve over 126,000 telecom executives every month.
