Imagine logging on to your Facebook account from your mobile phone and looking down to see someone else’s account, where you have access to their private info.
That’s exactly what a woman and her two daughers in Georgia recently reported. The glitch was reportedly connected to a routing problem with their wireless carrier, AT&T. It’s making some wonder how widespread this problem might be, although, according to i880NewsAM, security experts haven’t reported hearing of this problem before. Nonetheless, it’ll be an issue they’ll be investigating. Similar issues could open up AT&T, other wireless carriers and their customers to all kind of security nightmares.
It’s unknown if this was just a one-time glitch or if it was limited to Facebook; however, it certainly gives fuel to those who raise frequent concerns about the security of personal information on the mobile Web.
