Westcon Group Inc. and LogLogic, a provider of log management and security event management, have announced that Westcon will distribute LogLogic’s log management appliances and security applications to customers throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
LogLogic’s solutions, which are compatible with the vast majority of Westcon Group’s other vendor solutions including Cisco, Avaya, Nortel, Microsoft, Polycom and others, provide a searchable, appliance-based platform for collecting, storing, reporting and alerting on user and system activity data. This allows IT administrators to monitor privileged user access more effectively while optimizing server uptime and meeting compliance regulations.
“LogLogic’s solutions can play a very important role in helping businesses gain transparency into their network operations while ensuring they meet compliance requirements,” commented Anthony Daley, executive vice president, The Americas, Westcon Group. “These solutions are a perfect add on solution for our resellers, since log management is the basis for understanding network activity. There are many additional applications and solutions that our customers can add on as a result of this knowledge.”
Westcon’s agreement with LogLogic enables Westcon’s customers to offer pre-packaged compliance suites with out-of-the box reports and alerts for PCI, Sarbanes-Oxley (COBIT), HIPAA, ISO, ITIL, FISMA and NERC. Also, compliance and business processes can be quickly transformed from log data into intelligence.
“LogLogic is moving to a 100 percent channel-fulfilled sales model, so having capable, competent VARs in every major market is critical to our success,” said Guy Churchward, CEO of LogLogic. “Our objective with Westcon is to identify, recruit, train and partner with an elite group of focused network security or compliance specialized VARs in North America. We believe that Westcon – with its solutions programs and well established training capabilities – is perfectly suited to help us achieve this end.”
