Catalyst, Sipera Sign Distribution Agreement

Catalyst Telecom, a sales unit of ScanSource Inc. (SCSC), and value-added distributor of voice, video and data convergence solutions, has signed a distribution agreement with Sipera Systems, a provider of unified communications security appliance hardware and maintenance services.

Sipera’s solutions secure voice, video, collaboration and other real-time communications in converged IP networks to any endpoint. By offering these solutions, resellers can deliver an enhanced level of assurance that the VoIP and UC solutions they are offering are secure, thanks to threat protection, policy enforcement, access control and appropriate encryption, all deployed seamlessly onto the network, the companies said.

Sipera offers VIPER Lab professional services, available through Catalyst, which include vulnerability assessments and architecture consulting, ensuring the reseller and the end user are implementing the most effective, secure communications solution. As a result, resellers can ensure that their end users’ VoIP and UC projects support compliance with security mandates, such as student or patient data privacy, as well as financial transaction and consumer information confidentiality.
