FCCs Levin: We Need More Spectrum

The U.S. needs more spectrum, particularly as smartphone use grows.

That’s the word from the FCC’s Blair Levin, who’s heading up the formation of the agency’s national broadband program.

Levin, addressing industry lobbyists and executives yesterday, said the FCC wants to free up spectrum held by other government agencies, such as the Defense Department.

Groups including CTIA support such a move.
