Despite a down economy, Cisco channel exec Edison Peres reported channel operations at the vendor are looking up thanks to a recent ramping up of partner initiatives. Peres said that while some Cisco partners are consolidating, few are failing. In fact, Cisco took initiative to match faltering partners with healthier buyers. Cisco also extended its credit and financing terms and invested in beefing up sales and technical training.
Peres reported expectations that Cisco’s channel was in recovery and that managed services partners were growing at twice the rate of other Cisco partners.
