IBM Channel Head Discusses Partner Goals

IBM’s recently appointed channel chief, Sandy Carter, said she is gearing up to drive channel sales to grow the company’s software business. Carter said the company has assembled a software group channels board to help different sales and distribution parts of the company stay on the same page and keep the goals of the channel organization at the forefront.

Furthermore, Carter revealed a focus on helping partners take advantage of stimulus money and also uncover financing opportunities in the market. These efforts also will be accompanied by IBM’s attention to enhancing partners’ skill sets in new areas, such as cloud computing, and also helping partners buy into IBM’s Smarter Planet initiative, with a focus on green solutions and conservation.
