VoIP equipment maker Sonus Networks Inc. is laying off another round of workers, this time 10 percent of its work force.
That amounts to 93 people. Between December 2008 and March 2009, Sonus fired 150 workers as it struggles to stay afloat in the recession.
Sonus said this marks the final phase of restructuring that began late last year. The Massachusetts-based company will take severance, and other, charges of up to $1.9 million before taxes in the third quarter. Overall, though, Sonus expects the job cuts to save about $10 million per year, and the total restructuring efforts to save $20 million annually.
