AT&T CEO: We Wont Always Have iPhone Exclusive

It may have been stating the obvious, but AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson admitted Thursday that his company won’t have an exclusive with Apple’s iPhone for all eternity. What’s significant is that this is the first time he’s really hinted at that.

The question that arises is what will happen when Verizon gets its hands on the iPhone, presumably next year? PC World expects to see AT&T’s new subscriber growth to take a serious hit and its churn rate to grow big time, likely due to dissatisfaction over the carrier’s service.

Verizon already has the most cell phone customers in the U.S. – nearly 88 million, compared to AT&T’s 80 million.
