There’s been speculation that Nokia Siemens would be interested in more than just Nortel’s wireless unit, which the company has offered to buy for $650 million. But in a statement today, NSN said that was as far as it wanted to take its relationship with the bankrupt communications giant. NSN won’t be pursuing other parts of Nortel’s operations.
The announcement comes one day after Nokia Siemens North America head Sue Spradley said her company would be willing to up its bid, if necessary. She also said NSN would consider making offers on other Nortel units. It seems not everyone is on the same page.
Bids for the wireless unit are due Tuesday and an auction will be held July 24.
