Small business owners might want the latest technology but often lack the in-house expertise to implement it. So AT&T Inc. got the bright idea to give it to them for free, by holding the “Small Biz Tech Makeover Contest.”
The carrier will take video submissions by small businesses on why they think they need a technology makeover. Five of those businesses will win free tech support and smartphones; one grand prize winner will also receive Web hosting, Web design and unified messaging technologies, along with a consultation by tech expert Mario Armstrong.
Perhaps aware that large Tier 1s aren’t known for their ability to adequately serve SMBs, AT&T is using the contest as somewhat of a branding exercise to support a redesign of its small business online resource center. AT&T Small Business InSite offers interactive content, such as free Webinars, “helpful tips,” articles by small business experts and the ability to submit questions to experts about enhancing their businesses.
Contest entries can be submitted to www.att.com/smallbizmakeover through August 31. Video guidelines and contest details can be found by visiting the “Contest” tab on the AT&T Small Business Facebook page.
