Nortel Customers Cautiously Optimistic

Leaders of the International Nortel Network User Association (INNUA) say their organization is still supporting the bankrupt telecom giant. The INNUA is Nortel’s biggest enterprise user group.

INNUA president Steve Ford said, “The customers are very optimistic. [Nortel CEO Mike Zafirovski] reaffirmed his commitment to the customer and the product line going forward.”

Ford says Nortel’s goal, first and foremost, is to avoid losing customers. The INNUA is pleased that the company is trying to move forward, but hopes an announcement about its future will come soon. Nortel has until July 30 to give a detailed, restructured operating model.
