Vendors have long called the shots when it comes to certification, but one VAR is turning the tables – certifying its vendors for enterprise-class implementations.
VeriStor Systems unveiled its VeriStor Certified Technology Partner Program to validate solutions from storage and virtualization hardware and software vendors. A VeriStor Certified Product demonstrates exceptional characteristics in terms of technology differentiation, company stability, and customer support. In specific, a VeriStor Certified Product exhibits strong scalability, performance, availability and ease of use, along with low acquisition and operating costs.
The company’s goal, according to CEO Ashby Lincoln, is to make sure solutions are optimized to meet business requirements, not just technology challenges.
That doesn’t mean VeriStor eschews vendor certifications; it claims to have at least 35 of them. However, the company said certification is only a first step in ensuring the right customer solution. Stopping there means to risk being controlled by the vendor.
VeriStor so far has certified about 25 storage vendors, such at Dell, HP and VMware.
