SMB 2009 IT Budgets Vary, Survey Finds

IT spending by small and medium businesses is a moving target. While at the end of 2008, 26 percent of 1,200 SMBs surveyed by Compass Intelligence said they would decrease IT budgets, 40 percent said they would in a similar poll taken in March.

The bright side of this statistic is the 60 percent of SMBs expect their budgets to remain the same or increase. Forty percent of respondents said they expect their budgets to remain the same and 20 percent said they expect their budgets to increase this year.
