Now that AT&T’s CallVantage Internet phone service has gone the way of the Dodo, former competitors are lining up for a customer grab.
One is VoicePulse, which says it’s already seeing a sizable increase in subscribers. As part of its marketing push, the company is offering its Competitive Upgrade to CallVantage customers.
Local number portability will allow CallVantage customers to bring their phone number with them to a new broadband phone provider. A high-speed Internet connection and an ordinary touch-tone telephone are the only requirements to use VoicePulse’s home and business broadband phone service. Unlimited calling plans start at $24.99.
In 2003, VoicePulse was the first Open-Source friendly VoIP service provider on the market. The company says it serves as a value-added product for businesses of any size using an IP-PBX.
