The T-Mobile USA Inc. G1 handset based on Google Inc.’s Android mobile operating system has so far led a lonely existence, but that’s all set to change as a flurry of Android devices will be coming to market soon. That slew of offerings will include a netbook, as well.
This week HTC’s “Magic” handset, aka. the G2, hits Germany courtesy of Vodafone plc. That launch will soon extend to Austria, France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s i7500 will launch in June in Germany with O2.
And, the first Android-based netbook should be on the market by the end of the summer. Chinese manufacturer Skytone is in the final testing stages for the gadget, which it says will retail for $250.
