Nortel Ex-Workers Push for Company to Pay Benefits

Former workers for Nortel Networks Corp.(NT) officially have asked a judge in Canada to force the bankrupt equipment maker to pay severance and pension benefits.
Retirees and people hit by the company’s masses of layoffs say Nortel is breaking the law by not making good on money owed. Nortel said in March that workers could choose between pension and severance payments, but that they could not receive both.
