Yahoo! Takes Cloud Computing To Class

Yahoo! has made its supercomputing cluster, M45, accessible to three more schools to nurture research in the area of cloud computing systems and applications.

Previously available to Carnegie Mellon University, Yahoo! has extended the opportunity to California, Berkeley; Cornell University; and the University of Massachusetts. The cluster, which has approximately 1.5 petabytes of disk space and is used in Yahoo!’s everyday operations, could provide data for extensive research across several disciplines at each university.
