Cybersecurity Czar Pitched as New Federal Position

Two senators – one Democrat, the other Republican – are working to create the position of national cybersecurity czar.

John Rockefeller, D-W.V., and Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, are spearheading the effort through a new cybersecurity bill they’re proposing.

“It’s an understatement to say that cyber security is one of the most important issues we face; the increasingly connected nature of our lives only amplifies our vulnerability to cyber attacks and we must act now,” Rockefeller said in a prepared statement.
