Ingram Micro Invests in Vendor-Specific Business Units

Ingram Micro (IM) has created a Cisco business unit to support Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) channel partners with dedicated support.

In total, 43 execs from marketing, account management and other areas, comprise the team. The distributor created the Cisco business unit earlier this year, and followed that recently with the creation of a similar group focused on Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) partners. However, at this time, Ingram Micro does not have a unit dedicated to IBM (IBM).

Ingram Micro hopes this initiative will allow it to work more closely with VARs to promote sales.
