Reseller PowerNet Global Communications announced this week it has added Gateway Long Distance service into its SIP offering for businesses. The new service is for sale through its agent channel.
PowerNet Global’s Gateway Long Distance service includes outbound long-distance calls and inbound toll-free service. It works by supplying businesses with a T1 DIA circuit (or private line circuit, if requested) and gateway device that converts calls to SIP and terminates them on PNG’s network. Subscribers can use the service with their existing legacy phone equipment.
The service provides capacity equivalent to two T1s (about 3mbps), allowing 46 channels of simultaneous calls and facilitating call center traffic with high calls per second.
“Due to recent changes in carrier billing practices, customers are now looking to SIP solutions as the best option for their traffic,” said Matt Ziebro, vice president of enterprise sales at PowerNet Global. “The PNG Gateway Long Distance product presents our customers with a cost-effective solution that provides greater flexibility and less dependency on a single underlying carrier.”
