Eight days after being named as the nation’s CIO, Vivek Kundra is on leave.
That’s because a mid-level manager who worked at the Washington, D.C., technology office – which Kundra ran until last week – has been arrested on charges of bribery involving city contracts.
A business executive also was arrested.
The White House said Kundra is on leave out of “an abundance of caution” until more details are available. Barack Obama has made ethics in government one of the cornerstones of his campaign and his presidency.
