Partners Have Place in Microsoft Retail Play

Microsoft Corp.’s recently announced retail store strategy may have some room for partners after all. The company will engage its small business specialist for the service engagements.

IT service marketplace [OnForce Inc. will distribute the service SKUs sold at Microsoft’s retail stores. OnForce already does this for Best Buy and other retailers.

Partners, however, are unconvinced, saying that if Microsoft owns the billing relationship, then it’s not an opportunity for them to build a client base.
