Airband Communications Inc. has announced its new $3 million round of funding will be used to build out its fixed-wireless network to keep pace with growing demand from customers across all Airband markets.
Airband reports demand is coming from both the SMBs who need broadband access in the 3mbps to 20mbps range, as well as larger customers requiring 45mbps up to GigE speeds for enterprise-class high-bandwidth services.
“The business model for fixed-wireless data and voice services at Airband has strong momentum, and we see that there’s a compelling investment opportunity to pursue,” said Salvatore Tirabassi, a partner with Airband investor M/C Venture Partners, and a member of Airband’s board of directors. “In this economy, smart businesses are taking advantage of the compelling benefits of wireless technology like never before. Reliable, high-capacity data services and quality voice services over wireless technology are proving transformational for Airband’s clients, and that’s why we believe that Airband is the best choice for businesses nationwide.”
