Obama Signs Bill to Delay DTV Transition

A week before the DTV transition was set to happen, President Barack Obama has signed a bill to delay the move from analog to digital broadcast signals to June 12.

The DTV Delay Act finally passed both houses of Congress earlier this month after much debate and false starts.

Broadcasters originally were supposed to transition their signals on Feb. 17. But the Obama administration feared too many people remain unprepared and pushed for an extension.
