It’s no secret that traditional telecom providers are losing customers because of the recession and that one of the bright spots where they could/should focus managed services.
There’s a lot of promise in that sector, but there’s also some stigma to overcome, some work to do. For the companies that get it right, though, there’s a built-in survivability.
Savvis Inc. (SVVS) is one of the firms doing just that. The company, which reported quarterly earnings last week, said it’s focusing on managed hosting while slowing the amount of money it puts into colocation services … for now.
