Dialogic Corp. announced Wednesday it has expanded its DMG4000 Series media gateway line to provide improved compatibility with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Release 2 (R2).
The DMG4000 Series is a set of integrated systems designed to connect OCS 2007 R2 to existing PBX systems and PSTN networks. The DMG4000 Series reduces the number of servers needed to support OCS 2007 by integrating the mediation server role of OCS 2007 into the gateway platform. The ability to run Windows Server-based applications on the gateway platform earns the DMG4000 Series the “hybrid” designation.
The new DMG4000 configurations are scheduled for general availability in early April 2009 and will complement the current T1/E1 offerings with analog FXO and BRI interfaces in a hybrid gateway architecture. The new models will ship with mediation server software from OCS 2007 R2. The DMG4000 Series also provide a migration path for functionality in future Microsoft unified communications software releases.
Dialogic is also working to have the DMG1000 Series and DMG2000 Series media gateways qualified for the OCS 2007 R2 through the Microsoft Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program.
