Truphone is taking its low-cost international VoIP calling and other services to a whole new level with the launch of an MVNO. The first details will be revealed at Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona.
Truphone is an application for the iPhone, iPod Touch, BlackBerry and Nokia S60 dual-mode devices. It allows international toll bypass VoIP calling over Wi-Fi or cellular networks, but has been increasingly positioning itself as an aggregation portal for a myriad of voice and instant messaging services with the integration of MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Twitter, Google Talk and Skype.
The MVNO will bring together all of the company’s services and platforms for long-distance, roaming and messaging, to create a service that will automatically route the call or message over the cheapest network available, the company told Telephony.
