nGenX Corp. and Norlight Data Centers Inc. announced that parent company Q-Comm Corp. has merged these two data-focused business units to focus on building more data centers and expanding cloud computing offerings. The combined business unit will come together under the nGenX name.
Over the next several years, nGenX plans to build data centers throughout the United States and is currently building its third data center in southeastern Wisconsin. The company also is focused on expanding its cloud computing initiative and will focus on growing its share of the managed hosted server market.
“This merger will allow nGenX to offer its clients a broader array of outsourced IT products, including data center/colocation services, cloud computing, managed hosted servers, hosted applications and professional services,” said Robert A. Bye, executive vice president of nGenX. “We look forward to opening our agent sales channel to this expanded portfolio of data center products.”
“This merger allows us to create a complete IT ecosystem: It brings together the networking and data center experience of Norlight with the server and application hosting experience of nGenX,” said Marc Spindt, vice president of operations for Norlight Data Centers Inc. and COO for the integrated organization. “By leveraging our parent company’s 30,000-mile fiber-optic network to support and deliver our services, we have a combination of capabilities unique to the data center and cloud computing industries.”
