Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. Telecommunication Systems Division Tuesday announced that its Toshiba Strata CIX family of IP PBXs is certified as interoperable with IP services from AT&T Inc. and IPtimize Inc., a broadband voice and data service provider.
The certifications are the two latest revealed by Toshiba. The gearmaker announced interoperability with PAETEC last month. Unlike the PAETEC deal wherein Toshiba also became a national master sales agent, Tuesday’s deals do not include the distribution component.
Authorized Toshiba Dealers will be able to set up the service for customers, but will need to sign distribution agreements directly with the service providers in order to place the orders and earn commissions.
AT&T IP Flexible Reach is a managed VoIP communication solution that supports inbound and outbound calling over a data network, providing local, domestic long-distance and international calling for U.S. sites. AT&T’s IP Flexible Reach requires gateway routers at each site to be connected to the Toshiba Strata CIX IP business communication system. Both the Toshiba Strata CIX systems and AT&T IP Flexible Reach can be TDM-enabled, allowing enterprises to have a converged system.
IPtimize SIP-trunking services operate in any network environment and do not require special CPE. IPtimize serves more than 1,800 rate centers nationwide. IPtimize will provide training plus sales and engineering support to Authorized Toshiba Dealers as part of the agreement.
