Mitel this week introduced business SIP trunking. The service is provisioned through Mitel NetSolutions, the WAN division that formerly was Inter-Tel. Channel partners are able to sell the trunking product.
The NetSolutions unit already resold CLEC services in 31 states and Washington, D.C., and provided managed MPLS and broadband Internet access.
Mitel’s SIP business trunking only is available in the NetSolutions CLEC regions. It features six to 32 trunks, and 1.5MB to 3MB of Internet access. The trunking targets medium and large enterprises, and works with the Inter-Tel 5000 IP PBX and the Mitel 3300 IP Communications platforms.
Other features include local number portability, caller ID, E911 and audio conferencing. The SIP service also provides 500 minutes per trunk for long-distance in the United Sates.
“[W]e are providing a cost-effective choice for enterprises to simplify the deployment of VoIP,” said Jon Brinton, senior vice president of Mitel NetSolutions.
Mitel debuted the SIP product this week at Interop in Las Vegas.
