Toucan Global has introduced the Snap Personal Internet Communicator, a free-calling device that generally will be sold through VARs.
The Snap Communicator is a USB cable that uses a computer’s broadband connection to provide free calls. It retails for $99.
The Snap Communicator works like a business intercom system you just push a button,” said Todd Smith, Toucan Globals CEO. ”But now, instead of calling a colleague in the next room, you are instantly talking with colleagues or friends around the world or push three buttons and create an instant conference call.”
Once a user has installed the necessary CD into the PC and plugged in the USB cable, he or she can enter the names of up to eight friends who also use Snap. Conference calls accommodate up to four people.
