Telcombrokers said it has acquired Irvine, Calif.-based master agency Telogic. The acquisition is expected to close within 30 days.
Telcombrokers said it has almost completed the process of rolling up the Telogic agreements with TelePacific, PAETEC, ACC Business, New Edge Networks, Access One, TMC and AireSpring under the Telcombrokers agreements with those carriers. Agents will receive their commissions this month from Telogic and from Telcombrokers in February.
Telogic was one of the fastest-growing agencies in California, said Gavin Harris, former CEO of Telogic. We are proud of what we have accomplished through our partnerships with our agents, our carriers and our customers, and happy to see the agency we’ve built has value and will continue to grow with Dominic and his team at Telcombrokers.
Telcombrokers has hired Jessica Wilson as an agent sales manager to support the Telogic agents beginning Monday. Wilson will report to Vice President Nancy Ridge and will manage a team of approximately 20 to 30 agents from the Telogic acquisition. Her previous telecom experience includes working at ICG and MCI.
It is our plan to increase the level of production from the Telogic agents by providing them with increased support and higher commissions, explained Dominic Antonini, president of Telcombrokers. Since Telogic contracted with their agents on a pass-through basis, and Telcombrokers is at higher levels with virtually all of the carriers that Telogic was representing, the commission increases will be automatic for all new sales moving forward.
Antonini said Telcombrokers will assist these agents in new sales by having a dedicated agent manager and providing instant quotes through MasterStream. Telogic agents also will have the option of letting their existing agreements be grandfathered instead of moving over to the Telcombrokers agent agreement.
Telogic founders, Gavin and Linda Harris, will continue on as subagents of Telcombrokers with plans to sell on a part-time basis while focusing their main efforts on their real estate ventures with Hargo Management Co.
