USCarrier Upgrades Georgia Network to Enhance Services

USCarrier Telecom LLC (Booth 613, and COMPTEL sponsor), a wholesale provider of high-speed, long-haul, fiber-optic transport, plans to upgrade an existing OC48 ring that will allow the company to deliver advanced SONET, Ethernet and wavelength services. The network upgrade is set to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2007.

This upgrade will connect PoPs in Georgia from Savannah to Waycross, Waycross to Valdosta and Valdosta to Macon. USCarrier is deploying both the Fujitsu FLASHWAVE 7420 DWDM platform and FLASHWAVE 4500 MSPP on the companys current OC48 ring.

The addition of the DWDM platform will allow USCarrier to increase the capacity of the existing network, while the SONET platform provides scalable SONET across the network and will enable the company to deliver carrier-class TDM and Ethernet services. Increased bandwidth, service flexibility and Ethernet services will provide USCarrier with further revenue-generating opportunities, said the company.
