Catalyst Telecom, Avaya Create System for Disaster Readiness

In an effort to assist communities and organizations affected by natural disasters or major communications disruptions, Catalyst Telecom has become an authorized distributor of the Avaya Inc.’s Mobile Communication System (MCS).

The MCS is a standalone system designed to deploy emergency response communications during disaster relief or recovery efforts and for temporary operations when communications have been lost or are unavailable.

The preconfigured MCS is readied for connection to a satellite service provider receiver or available terrestrial network facility and consists of two environmentally hardened cases: one containing an uninterruptible power supply and configured G350 media gateway and S8300 media server and the other with up to 12 digital handsets.

Catalyst Telecom will provide all system integration services for the MCS, including installing and configuring the servers, loading the firmware and licenses, assembling the hardware, and loading and configuring the software. Additionally, Catalyst will allow the reseller to specify a custom translation set instead of the default translations.
