New Edge Networks said it has appointed a 12-member Agent Council that will help the company streamline its sales and marketing approaches to enhance the effectiveness of its authorized agent program.
New Edge Networks said it is expanding and refocusing its channel program strategy following its acquisition by EarthLink Inc. The company plans to use the Agent Council to help determine the best business practices for improving quality of support, network products, training, channel management, systems and communications, New Edge Networks said.
We need to be in alignment with our agents in preparing for industry change, a task that is best accomplished by fluid two-way communication on opportunities and focus, said Bruce Barnes, director of channel programs for New Edge Networks. By better understanding our agents business needs and priorities, using their input to improve New Edge’s capabilities, and maximizing their capability to recognize and provide solutions that coincide with our sweet spots, we can grow everybody’s business.
The Agent Council includes representation from the companys three U.S. regions. It also includes agents with different business models, such as master agencies, subagents and brokerage firms.
The council initially will help review topics like simplifying business interaction with carriers, communications and subagent support; new product offerings and pricing; training, agent certification, enhancing security of the agent business, performance incentives and recognition. It will meet monthly.
