Formotus Inc., a developer of mobile business data solutions, has unveiled FormoPublish, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that enables businesses to generate and deploy mobile applications to smart phones and other wireless devices. Formotus is demonstrating FormoPublish at this weeks CTIA Wireless 2007.
The product leverages the Microsoft Office platform to allow users to click-and-deploy secure mobile applications. The Web-based FormoPublish SaaS, available in professional and enterprise editions, lets users input and access business data from their Windows Mobile devices online or offline without any coding or additional hardware or software. Features of both editions include offline data validation; contact management with distribution list creation and control; device management with data backup; and customer consulting, service and support with live chat.
Once created in Microsoft Office, applications are converted and deployed as mobile XML data applications. The solution also uses Web services to automatically sync with company data systems once a network connection has been established.
“Smart phones and other wireless devices have the potential to dramatically enhance the way business is conducted in the field, yet a lack of real-world mobile data applications and the need to develop new ones from scratch prevents companies from maximizing the full potential of a mobile workforce, said Joseph Verschueren, Formotus co-founder/CEO. “We designed FormoPublish to deliver the best of both worlds.
FormoPublish supports all Windows Mobile devices and is available starting at $35 per device per month, for unlimited applications.
