DSET Consolidates Gateway Access, Management

DSET Corp. (Booth 622) has developed a way to consolidate the access and updating of its gateway product suite into one interface to increase efficiencies, decrease costs and deliver revenue to the books faster, the company has announced. A new Web Integration Module, or WIM, integrates commonly used business services for end-to-end voice products, including number porting, from multiple gateways into a single area. An additional WIM is available for end-to-end access products, including access pre-ordering.

The WIMs are a response to the tighter margins and increasing competition that is forcing service providers to drive the costs out of running a network, DSET said.

The WIM for voice integrates with the companys existing ezLocal and ezAccess gateway applications.

It provides customers with a worklist, a simplified method of:

Entering service orders with a minimum of keystrokes.

Viewing responses and activating the next stage within a worklist.

Allowing seamless transfer of shared data between applications.

Providing different entry options for application-specific data (manually or by using predefined templates), at each stage of the worklist operation.

Customers also will be able to eliminate switching between the different GUIs of multiple gateway applications, and eliminate the need to enter the same data multiple times.

The WIM for access combines the tasks of preordering services, such as customer service records, connecting facility assignment, meet points, loop qualifications, circuit/network/switch details and feature availability. For end-to-end directory listings, it includes a QuickPrint facility that will enable users to visually check the accuracy of the listings being sent to the publisher.

DSETs gateways handle a range of wholesale functionality, including:

Number port service ordering by ezLocal

CSR queries with ezPreOrder

Subscription version creation and activation via ezNumberPort

Updating the emergency call database with ez911

Querying the line information database with ezCallingCard

Updating PIC/CARE records of long-distance carriers with ezLongDistance

Accessing these from the WIM worklist will result in improved process flows, faster tracking of orders and responses, the company said.
