In response to increased customer demand for network bandwidth and to give large enterprises and service provider customers a better choice in the wake of industry consolidation, XO Communications Inc. today announced at COMPTEL PLUS a new campaign to offer what it says are the industrys most competitive rates and guarantees for high-capacity network services delivered over its extensive nationwide intercity and metro networks.
The XO campaign offers carriers, cable companies, content providers, large enterprises and wireless companies increased incentives to leverage XOs suite of intercity and metro network transport solutions, including Ethernet, IP transit and wavelength services. To support the campaign, XO has initiated the 3 Guarantee Program consisting of the following guarantees it will offer to any large enterprise and wholesale customer to beat valid competing offers for comparable high-capacity network services:
Best Price Guarantee: XO will beat any competing price for 2.5gbps and 10gbps services along select major XO network routes.
Install Guarantee: XO will provide a one-month service credit if it fails to meet the agreed upon service delivery date.
90-Day Trial Guarantee: XO will allow customers to trial its IP transit service for one 90-day period.
To meet anticipated demand, XO will deploy additional capacity across its nationwide network and in the largest carrier hotels in 23 metropolitan locations including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, N.J., Palo Alto, Calif., Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Jose, Calif., Seattle and Sunnyvale, Calif.
As a result of customer demand and success we have seen thus far, we are taking additional actions toward further increasing our share of the growing demand for high-bandwidth network services, said Ernie Ortega, president of XO Carrier Services. We are taking these actions as we believe demand is increasing and as carriers, service providers and large enterprises are looking for new providers in the face of industry consolidation. With our extensive nationwide and metro networks, we can offer customers an extremely attractive alternative.
Recently, XO announced a series of initiatives designed to strengthen its competitive position in the enterprise and wholesale services market and deliver services that can support customer demand for higher bandwidth services.
It completed its new, 18,000-mile nationwide long haul intercity fiber-optic network, which more than doubled XOs previous network capacity to an initial 100gbps of capacity and set the stage for a potential tenfold capacity increase up to 400gbps of capacity between any two cities on the XO network.
It formed XO Business Services and XO Carrier Services, distinct lines of business that bring finance, marketing, product management, sales and service delivery teams under separate leadership and strengthen XOs focus around the enterprise and wholesale markets.
