Tierzero, TelePacific Sign Five-Year $9 Million Contract

Tierzero, a regional ISP in Southern California, has extended its contract with facilities-based CLEC TelePacific Communications, this time for $9 million and five years.

Tierzero will use TelePacifics private network access services, but the companies also will jointly develop new VoIP and TDM-based voice services.

Our agreement with Tierzero is a perfect example of how competitive providers can work together to meet network capacity needs and generate additional revenue from existing networks, said Dick Jalkut, TelePacifics president and CEO.

TelePacific is providing Tierzero with a private-line network that includes a dedicated OC48 fiber ring for delivering high-speed T1 Internet access to business customers. The companies jointly developed products also will enable Tierzero to offer a new class of services to its customers, while TelePacific will be able to expand its wholesale product portfolio, including SIP services.
