Sphere Communications has built a Web server into its Sphericall IP PBX, and is showcasing the upgrade at the Internet Telephony Conference & Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The enhancement delivers unified communications, and video and Internet/intranet information to new micro-browser-based IP telephones from Polycom and Aastra, as well as integrated IP video phones from Tandberg. For example, Sphericall now supports video conferencing on a supporting IP phone and RSS feeds with information such as weather reports and news updates, sent to a users IP phone.
“Anywhere there is access to people and information, whether it’s a business application, a mobile device, a browser, or an IP telephone, Sphericall enables easy access to communications services, said Todd Landry, senior vice president of Sphere Communications.
