PhoenixSoft Inc. on Tuesday introduced a new CMS/SIP media server/softswitch for service providers at the Internet Telephony Expo in Florida. The server works in any SIP network, regardless of existing switching hardware.
PhoenixSoft said the server integrates IP applications within three types of network configurations: existing TDM networks (the media server VoIP-enables a Cantata-based TDM network); existing softswitch networks (the server can integrate with existing local or remote gateways, as well as softswitches from various vendors); and stand-alone softswitch networks (the server can function as a stand-alone softswitch platform integrating end-to-end IP capabilities within a service providers network).
Providers can add a CMS Class 5 feature server to provide IP Centrex features.
