Comstar Interactive recently announced the 10.6.0 version of its Comstar Dealer Zone, a Web-based service that allows Comstar sales partners to activate new merchants, edit existing merchant accounts, order products and services, and view user guides and marketing material.
The latest release provides Comstar sales partners with a Web-based interface that allows them to migrate a single merchant or an entire portfolio to a new processor.
Many of our sales partners/channels dont realize that Comstar provides total merchant portability, said Ken Racioppi, vice president of sales operations at Comstar. As long as all credit card terminals are loaded with the Comstar protocol, channels can move blocks of merchants to different platforms/front ends in seconds without having to re-download any of the terminals. The end result is that the ISO, not the processor, now retains the ownership of their merchants.
Comstar products sold through the channel include Charge Anywhere software for VeriFone Omni and Vx terminals, Treo and Pocket PC; Charge Anywhere hardware; Comstar Payment Gateway Plug-In, designed to work with QuickBooks; and gateway services for wireless, IP, Wi-Fi and landline terminals.
