Communications taxation company BillSoft Inc. on Monday announced it has partnered with AES Systems Inc. to provide CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System)-certified address validation.
CASS was developed by the U.S. Postal Service to improve the accuracy of mailings. Implementing postal address certification as part of data-entry minimizes liability and imposes quality assurance against undeliverable and returned mailings, the company said. CASS certification allows companies to obtain discounted postal rates for bulk mailings with a higher degree of accuracy for carrier routes, five-digit ZIP codes, ZIP+4 codes and delivery point addresses, the company added. EZGeo and EZGeo Online use the validated address to assign the proper taxing jurisdiction for communications and retail transactions. In addition, EZGeo and EZGeo Online return information such as the incorporated versus unincorporated distinction, county information and special tax districts.
