Vimio plc, a provider of media distribution solutions and content to mobile network operators, at CTIA Wireless announced the availability of JukeBox, an application that delivers live TV, full track music, video, karaoke, ringtones, true tones, Java games, audio books and other mobile content over 2.5G, EDGE and 3G networks from one platform.
“Video from mobile devices requires high battery capacity and high bandwidths, which results in high costs for end users,” said Malachy Harkin, CEO of Vimio. “JukeBox uses less memory for storage and transmits content much faster over wireless links important features that make it possible to use mobile devices for music or video services.”
The Vimio JukeBox handles the delivery of music and videos and other mobile content to CDMA, GPRS or 3G devices, where the end user can browse, search and buy music or videos from a mobile device.
