ATLANTIC-ACM, a leading telecommunications research consultancy, announced its 2006 U.S. Wholesale Carrier Excellence Awards Monday at the COMPTEL PLUS Spring Convention + Expo in San Diego, Calif.
The awards, presented by Dr. Judy Reed Smith, ATLANTIC-ACM’s CEO, were based on the results of the 2006 edition of ATLANTIC-ACM’s Wholesale Carrier Report Card, which evaluates the performance of wholesale carriers from ratings by their resale customers. This year marks the 10th edition of the annual study, which is the industry’s chief benchmarking resource.
AT&T Inc. claimed the most honors, receiving awards for data products and pricing and tying with Sprint Nextel Corp. for network and brand quality as well as voice products and pricing. Also walking away with multiple honors were Level 3 Communications Inc. for billing, customer service, and data products and pricing, and Qwest Communications International Inc. for provisioning and sales representatives. Joining the pack were BellSouth Corp. for provisioning, Broadwing Communications for sales representatives and Global Crossing for data products and pricing.
