Comtrend Combines VDSL2, ADSL2+ in Wireless Router

A new multimode DSL wireless router, called the CT-5371, from Comtrend Corp., supports all existing ADSL standards as well as the ITU-T VDSL2 standard.

The box includes four 10/100 Base-T Ethernet ports and one USB port to provide wired LAN connectivity along with an integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi WLAN access point. The system employs a scalable DSL transceiver from Broadcom Corp. that allows the VDSL2 standard to support ATM and Ethernet transport; dual latency and dual interleaving; flexible transmit power; full control over spectral usage; and performance optimizing framing, filtering; and rates of up to 100mbps.

The CT-5371 can handle IP video and a variety of other legacy and new services, using VLANs, IGMP snooping and proxy, for traffic management.
